GREEN WIDOW (Temple)
Another evergreen that needs heavy mulching
in cold winter areas, this flower produces very large trumpet-shaped (hence
it is not a Spider Variant) flowers of exceptional beauty. The throat is
deep, clear green changing through chartreuse to yellow. In our warm sunshine,
the outside edges of the flower lighten to an ivory-lemon. Top-branched,
blooming profusely just above the arching foliage. A superb parent for green
throats, giving, however, any tender evergreen. For colder climates, one
should make an abundance of seed to be able to select for hardiness as well
as beauty.
