LADY HAWKE (King-Lamone 1999)
This subtle Crispata displays just a touch of sepal quilling and petal tip twisting. I feel that if this were a yellow I would have tossed it, but its intriguing, soft colour play works very well with a subtle crispation pattern. Well-branched scapes help to place each flower at an important distance (for individual viewing) from each other.
This beautiful ivory CRISPATA was a seedling out of ASTERISK and made my heart soar. I would sincerely love to develope a line of near-white crispatas. This cultivar also has AQUAMARINE and a Sib to ASTERISK in its makeup. One of three seedlings selected out of 250, this was the only near white that had branching. It opens palest flesh-lavender then turns white in sun. A nocturnal, opening easily in cool weather.
