VANESSA ARDEN

Another seedling of my numerous GOLLIWOG X ASTERISK crosses in the 1990's, this delicate pure pale lavender Cockerel is a dormant, nocturnally-opening flower that is stunningly clear in colour. Blooming on branched scapes at about 26 inches, the plants seem to be pod sterile, but relatively pollen fertile. Moderate increase. Good bloom once established. Set pods on small plants but often rejected pollen once established (?!)
Completely unique as a flower and very easy to grow, establishing quickly after transplanting and blooming the year after. Increase, branching and bloom very good once established. Named for my third child who proclaimed it the most beautiful daylily in the garden.
A beautiful, feminine addition in the Crispata border! An personal favourite.
