LOTH LORIEN (King-Lamone 2002)

STUNNING, GORGEOUS!! This flower is a very exciting,
deep violet-mauve reverse-bitone Crispata. One of a kind completely. Very
well branched once established, a little taller than what I registered it
at, this flower transcends my expectations for an Exotic Form. It has crispation,
very unusual and distinctive pattern, good to excellent branching, fragrance,
hardiness, good growth and pod and pollen fertility. What else could I ask
for?
The flower form is much more slender than this
illustration shows, with the sepals quilling slightly and the tips curling.
A richly-pigmented, very showy flower and a stunning contrast to a lot of
my pastel Exotic Forms. The glowing lighter ring around the plum coloured
eyezone combined with the slightly darker sepals made this an exciting discovery.
An easy pollen parent, this nocturnally-opening flower displayed twisting
sepals and, at times, pinched petals.
Surviving the deep freezes, without mulching,
this seedling grew well and bloomed after transplanting. Easy pod and pollen
parent.
